4. Understand Regional Qualifier Zones:
Your region is determined by the country you listed during platform registration. You can only register for tournaments within your designated zone. The zones are:
AO: Asia and Oceania
EAS: Europe and Southern Africa
MENTA: Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey
AM: Americas
5. Select the Appropriate Division:
The tournament is open to players of all skill levels, both rated and unrated. To ensure fair competition, rated players must not enter divisions below their current Elo rating; doing so may lead to disqualification. Choose the division that aligns with your skill level:
Under 2000 Division: For players with an Elo rating below 2000.
Under 2300 Division: For players with an Elo rating below 2300.
Open Division: Open to all players, regardless of rating.
6. Verify Your FIDE ID (For FIDE-Rated Players) :
FIDE-rated players should verify their FIDE ID before participation. If you do not have time to verify it immediately, you can do so at a later stage. However, please note that all players must undertake KYC verification prior to the regional finals. FIDE players who played in a division under their rating will be in breach of the Checkmate Lives Fair play policy.
A guide to verify your FIDE ID and rating can be found here or by watching the following walkthrough.
7. Understand Initial Ratings:
All newly registered players on Checkmate Live start with a rating of 1500 unless they are FIDE verified. As the qualifiers for this tournament are open to both rated FIDE and unrated players, an honor system is being followed.
