# Reporting Cheating or a Breach of Community Rules

Hey there! While we want everyone to have fun, sometimes you need to report behavior that breaks our community rules. Here's how our reporting system works. Please note: Checkmate Live is currently in **Alpha**, and your feedback is helping to shape our workflow.

### What Happens to Reports?

* **Tournament Reports:**
    Fast-tracked during the **Fair Play review window** for quick action.
* **Other Reports:**
    Handled based on the **severity** of the issue.
* **Careful Review:**
    All reports are reviewed by our **Moderation** and **Fair Play** teams.

### How to Make a Report

#### Found an Issue in Your Game?

1. Head to your **Profile** > **My Games.**
2. Click **"Review"** for the specific game in question.
3. Hover over your opponent’s profile.
4. Hover over your opponent’s profile and click **"Report"**

#### Spotted Something Else?

1. Find the player through the **Leaderboard**, **Tournaments**, or **Search.**
2. Visit their **Profile.**
3. Click **"Report Player."**

### What Can I Report?

#### Abuse:

* Abusive or threatening remarks
* Discriminatory or racist remarks
* Doxxing
* Sexual harassment
* Unsportsmanlike behavior

#### Fair Play:

* Cheating
* Game abandonment / stalling
* Match-fixing
* Rating manipulation
* Smurfing
* Suspected pre-arranged draw

#### Other:

* Avatar / username issues
* Spamming
* Other concerns

### What Happens Next?

1. **Report Submission:**
    Your report goes straight to our team.
    
2. **Prioritized Review:**
    
* **Tournament Reports:** Addressed promptly during the **Fair Play review window** to ensure competitive integrity.
    
* **Other Reports:** Evaluated based on severity, with serious issues prioritized.

3. **Investigation:**
  
* Our team analyzes game data from Sixth-i, platform logs, and any provided evidence to verify each report.

4. **Actions (if confirmed):**
    
* **Fair Play Score adjustments**
* **Reward deductions**
* **Tournament disqualification**
* **ELO rating penalties**
* **Account suspension or bans**
