All players start with 1500 default elo, how do I know I’m not playing with a player over 2000 elo?
Since Checkmate Live is new (and in alpha)**, all players are starting fresh. Your rating on Checkmate Live is the official rating we use for tournaments.
For Asian Chess Federation events and FIDE-rated events, your FIDE rating is your start rating and will be used accordingly.
To ensure fair competition:
FIDE players must sync their FIDE ID prior to the regional finals.
Players must complete a KYC (Know Your Customer) process to qualify for regional finals.
You must play 30 games on Checkmate Live before entering Checkmate Live Pro matches, regardless of your FIDE rating.
If a player is found to have violated the rules—such as participating in a U2000 tournament while being over 2000 Elo—they will not receive prizes and may be suspended or banned.
